Fujitsu has unveiled a 25.7cm tablet, the Fujitsu Tablet Stylistic Q555, which it says is ideal for the mobile workforce, particularly in enterprises or governments.
The tablet is designed for Microsoft Windows 8 or 8.1 environments, and features bright anti-glare WUXGA (Wide Ultra XGA) display, long battery life, attachable keyboard, enterprise-grade security and the latest connectivity.
The company describes the tablet as a two-in-one device for the mobile environment, particularly in industries where security and network integration are of utmost importance.
Built with Fujitsu's much touted 'human-centric' approach, it's been built to meet the needs of users and IT administrators who utilise mobile devices to remain productive while on the go.
J"org Hartmann, VP Global Client Computing Devices at Fujitsu, says the tech giant has worked closely with its business customers around the world to make sure the tablet meets the needs of the mobile workforce.
Some of the features include a 10-hour battery life, an anti-glare touch display that is easy to use, even in direct sunlight, and a toughened screen that is scratch-resistant for day-to-day use. It weighs 655g.
In addition, users can connect anytime with optionally embedded 4G/LTE connectivity, and security features include a SmartCard reader as well as user-authentication via contactless SmartCard, based on optional near-field communications technology, as well as an optional fingerprint reader and encrypted SSDs.
Hartmann says optional extras include the hand strap, shoulder strap or VESA mount, while combining with a keyboard and cradle enables a desktop-like experience.
The Fujitsu Tablet Stylistic Q555 will be available on a project basis for value-added resellers in Europe, Middle East, India and Africa from December. Prices vary by configuration.
