The bail hearing of Johannes Jacobus Fourie, the 35-year-old man arrested in connection with the Absa online banking fraud case, has been postponed for a second time.

Fourie made a brief appearance in the Bellville magistrate`s court in the Western Cape this morning. His attorney, Chris Watney, said he needed more time to finalise Fourie`s residential address and to obtain financial security.

Fourie`s advocate Sakkie Martines was absent from this morning`s proceedings.

Fourie is alleged to have defrauded at least 10 Absa clients out of R500 000 after gaining access to their Internet banking accounts.

State prosecutor Anthony Steven requested that the case be postponed to 16 September.
