Chairman Ralph Collis will leave AdaptIT at the end of the month.

The company says Collis will “pursue private interests”, but does not elaborate on what these are.

Collis was appointed to the board on 1 September 1998 and has been in the IT industry since 1975. He was one of the founding directors of InfoWave, in 1996, and retired as the CEO in 2004.

InfoWave was Illovo Sugar's IT solutions provider for an outsourcing project, where Illovo outsourced its logistics and warehouse management to Barloworld. InfoWave is now an AdaptIT subsidiary.

Bernard Ravno, an independent non-executive member of the board, has been appointed to act as interim chairman, with effect from 1 October, until a permanent successor has been appointed.

Ravno was appointed to the board in 2003 and has been involved in the sugar industry for over three decades. In 2002, he retired from Illovo as technical director and was appointed to the InfoWave board in 2003.

AdaptIT thanked Collis for his contribution and wished him well in his future endeavours.
