Allscan Trading is not only Visioneer/Xerox Scanners' African partner, but an extension of its international footprint, says Erik Banis, Sales Director EMEA & DMO East for Visioneer/Xerox Scanners.
Banis says Allscan Trading has been selling Visioneer and Xerox scanners into the African market since the business started in 2008, and with Visioneer having a trademark licensing agreement with Xerox, it is only natural that Allscan Trading be afforded the distribution rights for the latest Xerox DocuMate Scanners also.
Its focus has always been scanners, and although its business model has changed dramatically over the last few years, it is still in the best position to give its products the right focus, Banis added. While its products gain momentum in the South African market, the company is convinced a value-added distributor is the way forward for the Xerox DocuMate Scanners.
At the company's event at the Blue Valley Golf Estate, Allscan Trading also launched the Xerox Mobile Scanner solution to address the problem of missing or misplaced documents. The solution will deliver a scanned image into an FTP site within a few minutes after it has been scanned, via a scanner installed in a delivery vehicle, says Chris Botha, Managing Director of Allscan Trading.
"We believe this will have a substantial impact on companies' cash flow and will cut down on fraud and theft during deliveries, because with very little user interaction, the scanned image will be uploaded as well as the metadata associated with the image," Botha added.
"It is time for businesses to use technology to manage their assets, and our solution will make it possible to pinpoint the exact geo-co-ordinates from where the image was scanned, and this will be immediate proof that items or stock has been delivered."
Botha says: "The solution has 'patent pending' in South Africa and a few other countries, and we are very excited about the future of this solution. By making use of a Xerox scanner and some other technologies, we are convinced that we have combined 'best of breed' to come up with a totally unique way of managing information."
