AppScriber lets consumers find solutions

Immidio AppScriber 2.0 is a Web-based self-service application provisioning solution which reduces the time consumed by user-initiated application requests, according to DABCC.

AppScriber extends the most popular application deployment solutions, such as Microsoft System Centre Configuration Manager, Microsoft App-V, Microsoft RemoteApp programs, and Citrix XenApp published applications.

Through the AppScriber frontend, users can interactively provision their own applications or make an application self-assignment request to an approver. These activities require no IT intervention, no call to the helpdesk, and no support ticket opened.

Bmi updates self-service check-in

Travellers will find it easier to check themselves in for a flight with bmi this year following an overhaul of the airline's systems, says Opodo.

Technology giant IBM has provided the carrier with its self-service check-in solution, which is designed to make the process as quick and easy as possible for passengers using airport kiosks, mobile phones and the to check in.

Customers will be able to print out boarding passes, check in for onward flights, change seats and make use of other facilities with the new technology.

Verizon nudges users to self-service

With major enhancements to its self-service capabilities, Verizon hopes its customers will cut out the middleman, states Xchange.

Verizon talked up its expanded and enhanced self-service tools for wireline residential customers this week, saying it enabled customers to do everything from shopping for bundles of services to paying bills to fixing problems with TV and Internet services around the clock.

The online and voice-activated tools are designed to put customers in direct control of their specific service needs, especially the growing number using self-service tools already for paying bills and making purchases online.
