Local Oracle Gold Partner, APPSolve, is set to broaden its horizons, following its appointment as an implementation partner for a major project in Qatar, host nation for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The company will form part of a multinational project team involved in an Oracle EBS R11 to R12 re-implementation for a large enterprise based in the Gulf nation.
APPSolve offers an in-depth knowledge of Oracle technologies and applications and custom software development, and is capable of delivering projects, providing managed services and distributing licences across a broad suite of Oracle technology and applications.
The company has already provided services to over 70 customers in Southern Africa, including organisations in Zambia, Mozambique and Botswana, although this will be the first project it undertakes outside the continent. Nonetheless, the company is quick to point out that this is no major challenge, as among its staff are individuals that have worked both internationally and locally.
Andre Pelser, Technical Director at APPSolve adds that the beauty of the project is that APPSolve will be able to complete its part of the project remotely, meaning that while the project itself takes place outside of Africa, the six staff members involved in this project will not need to leave SA.
The long term assignment began in May of 2016 and is only expected to be completed early next year. Within the bounds of the project, APPSolve's main focus will be on migrating custom reports and data conversion.
"We are pleased to have been accepted to take part in a project of this scale and believe it is due to our longstanding relationships with a number of people and organisations that know our reputation in SA and are now operating in the Middle East region," he explains.
"While there is no doubt that the favourable ZAR exchange rate has helped our cause, I believe that our appointment has far more to do with our renowned reputation for delivering exceptional Oracle skills. It is this, more than anything, that has made APPSolve's global value proposition impossible to ignore and easy to accept," concludes Pelser.
