Armscor has signed a five-year, R100 million ICT outsourcing contract with IT solutions and telecommunications company T-Systems.
Armscor quality and IT GM Jan Oosthuizen says the deal is a progression from the companies` existing partnership. "T-Systems has proven its ability to adhere to strict service level agreements, which has resulted in services of high quality being delivered over the years," he says.
"T-Systems has also been able to meet the high requirements of data security required by the Department of Defence, and it made business sense to continue this partnership."
The contract went out on public tender for a full outsourcing deal, and the decision to partner with T-Systems was unanimous, says Oosthuizen, adding that the company`s black empowerment profile was taken into account.
T-Systems will now also provide Armscor with desktop, server and mainframe services, says T-Systems sales and service management GM Juergen Egert.
"T-Systems has a long-standing relationship with Armscor, whereby we provide them with computing services, application management and print services.
"The existing contract, incorporating additional services, was awarded for a five-year period and we are very excited to continue our partnership with such a valued customer," says Egert.
