Aspect, 2e2 collaborate to target Microsoft unified communications, collaboration market

Together, customer contact expert and managed service provider meet growing demand for UC capability.

Johannesburg, 14 Feb 2012

Aspect, a leading provider of customer contact and Microsoft platform solutions, has announced that as the adoption of unified communications and collaboration (UC&C) technology gains momentum, Aspect and ICT life cycle services provider 2e2, have announced a partnership to work with medium enterprise organisations looking to consolidate multiple communications channels across the business - from telephony to social media.

The alliance combines Aspect and Microsoft's suite of UC&C applications and 2e2's project management, technology expertise and support services.

As part of the agreement, 2e2 has full access to Aspect Unified IP customer contact and workforce optimisation applications. Aspect's portfolio of UC products was developed to ensure seamless integration with Microsoft applications, including Exchange, Lync, and Dynamics Customer Relationship Management (CRM). 2e2 is a Gold Certified Microsoft partner with specialisations in UC&C, providing complete end-to-end solutions from on-premise to cloud-based services.

“This partnership is a mutually beneficial step, enabling us access to brand new markets and meet the growing demand for UC capabilities,” comments Steve Boakes, channels and partners manager at Aspect. “In fact, Gartner predicts that worldwide, UC technology spending will reach $17 billion in 2012. Much of this is driven by the consumerisation of IT and the changing way in which people communicate both inside and outside of their organisations.”

Sandra Peignaux, director of alliances and partnerships at 2e2, adds: “2e2 has doubled in size in less than two years, and entering the UC market is key to further growth for the company. Our UC strategy is focused on delivering customers with a single point of contact, to reach anybody, anywhere, across any media and any channel. We see this as a strong lead generation strategy that will make a disruptive mark on the UC market.”

Aspect Unified IP and Microsoft's Lync server creates a robust solution set to support UC strategies for mid-market organisations through to enterprise. Aspect Unified IP is the company's next-generation unified contact centre platform, uniting inbound, outbound, voice portal, Internet contact, multi-channel self-service and proactive contact capabilities, as well as UC&C functionality. Aspect Unified IP serves as the foundation for the majority of the company's customer contact applications.
