Aurigo bullish on India projects

Aurigo Software Technologies, a US-based management solutions provider for construction projects, is bullish on the Indian market and expects to clinch close to 80 key infrastructure customers in the next 24 months, according to Business Standard.

“The road map is clear for us. For India, the growth is in infrastructure and the government is spending unprecedented money, with 11% of its gross domestic product being invested in capital-intensive projects, while it's 4% to 5% in the US,” says Balaji Sreenivasan, CEO of Aurigo Software.

Over Rs 15 000 crore (R24.3 billion) is to be spent on capital-intensive projects in India over the next five years. The IT spend on this is likely to account for around 2%, of which about 30% would go into project management tools.

Metrics a key PM trend

ESI International has revealed its 2010 'Top global project management trends' and the key theme for the year is metrics, metrics and more metrics, says Public Technology.

As organisations switch their focus from surviving to demonstrating business value, metrics will play an increasingly important role in keeping management informed about project performance and its impact on the bottom line and customer service.

Programme and project managers, under pressure from senior management to demonstrate project portfolio performance and its impact on the enterprise, will make the pitch for - and win - resources to implement project portfolio management solutions. This will provide the fact-based decision-making senior management needs.
