Avaya offers fast-track training

Avaya has become the latest vendor to launch an assault on the partner base of stricken rival Nortel with discount and training incentives, reports CRN-UK.

Set to go live this week, Avaya's programme will target jumpy Nortel resellers with the incentive of being fast-tracked on training, sales, marketing and support to quickly deliver Avaya's portfolio of unified communications and contact centre solutions.

Nortel resellers will also receive bonus incentives for every new Avaya customer and product order. Michelle Jones, channel marketing EMEA at Avaya, joined the vendor from Juniper Networks last month to spearhead the recruitment drive and instigate its 'channel-centric' strategy.

For a medium-sized storage vendor, US firm Compellent is making a big noise about its plans for market domination, writes Channel Pro.

The firm has openly declared it wants to be “the next billion dollar storage company” - and is relying on its 100% channel model to achieve its goal.

The firm's VP of worldwide sales, Brian Bell, reiterated the company's commitment to its partners at Compellent's recent C-Drive event in Minneapolis, urging them to “think big”.

Seanodes, a developer of virtual server-based storage software, is seeking VMware solution provider mindshare with a new reseller programme that rebates to VARs their cost for the software for the next three months, according to Channel Web.

Starting this month, and through the end of September, solution providers will receive a rebate cheque at the end of each month for the costs of their purchases of Seanodes' software, letting them keep all the profit from their sales, said Frank Gana, Seanodes business development director.

The France-based vendor, which has its US headquarters in Boston, is the developer of Exanodes software, which allows the building of clustered virtual iSCSI storage appliances inside a host server for use as a low-cost storage network for virtual servers.
