Avaya wins Miercom`s "NetWORKS As Advertised" award

Avaya, a global leader in business communications solutions and services, recently announced its Avaya IP600 Internet Protocol Communications Server has won the prestigious "NetWORKS As Advertised" award from Miercom, formerly Mier Communications, an independent network consultancy and product test centre.

"NetWORKS As Advertised" (NAA) awards are only presented to vendors that score 80 percent or higher during a competitive or private test by Miercom. The criteria vendors are tested on include installation, ease of use, configuration, management, and performance. "Products are thoroughly tested in our labs and have proved to be reliable, affordable, and easy to install," said Rob Smithers, Miercom President. "We are proud to award them our seal of approval, the "NetWORKS As Advertised" award."

With rich and varied station support and in-line powering of IP (Internet Protocol) phones, the Avaya IP600 scored highly in the Configuration category. In the call-completion tests within the Performance category, the IP600 scored impressive results: In a one hour and 18 minute test, 4,341 IP calls were attempted on the system with a 100 percent completion rate. In a protracted overnight test that lasted 14 hours and 40 minutes, 48,821 calls were attempted, of which 48,819 were successfully completed - a 99.996 percent call success rate. The IP600`s voice quality was rated 4.55 on a scale of 1 to 5. A rating of 4.34 to 4.66 is considered "very good."
