Awards for Indian SMEs

Dun & Bradstreet, in association with Fullerton, held the Dun & Bradstreet Fullerton India SME awards 2008 to recognise the contribution of SMEs to the Indian economy, states Pressreleases.

Indus Net Technologies, an Internet strategy company based in Kolkata, was honoured for being the top performing SME in the IT and IT-enabled services sector in the country.

“Indus Net Technologies started out in Kolkata 11 years ago with a single client and no employees. Today, we are a multinational company employing some 300+ people and serving around 2 000+ customers globally,” said Abhishek Rungta, CEO of Indus Net Technologies.

In response to the Philippines' president's refocused economic policies, the Department of Science and Technology of northern Luzon has unveiled the Small Enterprises Technology Upgrading Programme (Set-up), reports Businessmirror.

Set-up is a nationwide strategy to encourage and assist SMEs to adopt technological innovations to improve operations, boost productivity and increase competitiveness.

It aims to enable enterprises to address technical problems through technology transfer and to improve productivity through product quality, human-resources development, cost minimisation and waste management.

BitDefender, a provider of anti-virus software, has signed a distribution agreement with OneWorld Office, a provider of data protection for home and office, for distribution of BitDefender products in North America, says CBR Security.

Under the agreement, OneWorld Office will distribute the entire line of BitDefender data security products for home, SOHOs and SMEs, including BitDefender Total Security 2009.

Ginger Yerovsek, global sales director of BitDefender, said: "By partnering with OneWorld Office, BitDefender is able to further enhance our reach throughout North America.
