IT services group Business Connexion`s Namibian unit has signed a deal to provide solutions to Namibia`s state-owned cellular operator Mobile Telecommunications (MTC).
The deal, worth N$9 million (R9 million), is renewable annually and will see Business Connexion provide an IT solution that will include fraud management, revenue assurance, test call generator, billing verification and quality of service measurement.
"This is our single largest deal with a local service provider and we believe the modules will enable us to reduce our revenue leakage and improve fraud management systems," says Bengt Strenge, MTC MD.
He describes the deal as a win-win situation for Namibia as profits are being re-invested into the local economy while improving MTC`s business performance.
Ferdi Graupe, MD of Business Connexion Namibia, says this deal represents a vote of confidence in his company`s ability to provide business solutions to demanding service providers such as MTC.
"We undertake to deliver on time and within the agreed quality standards which our clients have come to expect of us," he says.
MTC has over 400 000 subscribers with turnover in excess of N$866 million.
Business Connexion Namibia says it is one of the largest black empowered ICT companies in Namibia. It has offices in Windhoek, Oshakati and Swakopmund, with third-party service providers in other centres.
