Bell rings changes

Bell Micro has partnered with Systems (ISS) to help the vendor grab a wider share of the IBM reseller market, reports VNUNet.

Under the terms of the deal, Bell will supply its reseller base with ISS' full suite of products and services.

ISS was snapped up by IBM for $1.3 billion last year (CRN, 23 August 2006) and has operated as a business unit within IBM Global Services' Security organisation ever since.

Aruba revamps distribution model

LAN vendor Aruba Networks is slashing its distribution line-up and introducing a more 'transparent' rebate system in response to complaints that its UK channel strategy was "out of control", says VNUNet.

According to insiders, React Technologies will be the only direct-buying partner to survive the cull, while the vendor is also believed to be enlisting cabling distributor Mayflex.

Aruba currently works through React, Computerlinks, Noxs, Manilma and several hybrid reseller-distributors.

MS Hardware celebrates 25 years

Microsoft Hardware is celebrating 25 years of operations globally. As part of the celebrations in India, the company has announced a special channel promotion, '25 PE 25' for its reseller network across the country, reports IT VAR News.

Aimed at garnering channel support and extending the '25 years' celebrations to channel partners, the '25 PE 25' promotion will also reinforce Microsoft Hardware's 25 years of trust, leadership, innovation and satisfaction.

The '25 PE 25' promotion, which started in July, will run till 25 September. Based on the value of business the retailer does, inventory sales achieved by the dealer during the offer period, he gets special incentives linked to the number '25'.
