Blue Turtle recognises Flexera Software's enhanced FlexNet Manager Suite 2014 R2

Flexera Software, the leading provider of software licensing, compliance and installation solutions for application has announced a new release of the FlexNet Manager Suite for Enterprises with On Premises availability.

FlexNet Manager Suite 2014 R2 is now available as a fully Web-enabled system for both on-premise and cloud delivery. FlexNet includes Contract Management functionality, such as payment schedules, vendor and document management capabilities, among other features.

In addition, the enhanced Web user interface demonstrates Flexera Software's commitment to flexibility and ease of use of their market leading software licence optimisation products.

Web user interface: With this release, the full product functionality is now available via the WebUIUI for both on premises and cloud delivery models.

FlexNet Manager for IBM

New Adapter for IBM Passport Advantage: FlexNet Manager for IBM now provides an adapter to IBM Passport Advantage that, for the first time, allows us to import licence entitlement data directly from the software publisher. This can ease the process of obtaining licence entitlements and allow organisations to more quickly achieve an effective licence position. Getting entitlement data directly from the vendor gives customers a level of confidence that they are 100% aligned on entitlements in case of an audit.

New Adapter for IBM License Metric Tool (ILMT) and Software Usage Analysis (SUA): This new adapter adds support for IBM's latest releases of ILMT and SUA tools, delivering support for IBM Processor Value Unit (PVU) licences, and sub-capacity licensing.

FlexNet Manager for Microsoft

Windows Server 2012 and System Center License Support: The 2014 R2 release of FlexNet Manager for Microsoft provides support for the Windows Server 2012 processor-based licence. This includes built-in knowledge of the licensing rules:

* A minimum of two processor licences must be purchased for each physical server.
* The Standard edition licence only permits two Operating System Environments (OSEs) while the Datacenter edition allows unlimited OSEs.

FlexNet Manager for Microsoft 2014 R2 also supports Microsoft System Center licence models, which are different between desktop and server operating systems. On the server side, the Standard edition supports two OSEs per licence, the Datacenter edition an unlimited number of OSEs. For desktops, two new System Center licences have been added to FlexNet Manager for Microsoft: The Microsoft System Center Client User licence and the Microsoft System Center Device License.

FlexNet Manager Platform

License Management for App-V Virtual Apps Running in Citrix XenDesktop Environment Many customers using desktop virtualisation, such as Citrix XenDesktop, use application virtualisation as well (application virtualisation within desktop virtualisation). Reporting on the licence position in these types of virtual environments is challenging. With the 2014 R2 release, FlexNet Manager Platform provides licence management for Microsoft App-V (v4.6) virtual applications running in

Citrix XenDesktop (v6.5) environments.
