SAP solution provider Britehouse has bought majority stakes in two companies in a bid to bolster its cloud computing offerings.
Britehouse is a venture holding business that invests in companies with specific business software application skills and delivery track records.
It is 60%-owned by an empowerment and investment consortium comprising Convergence Partners Investments, Safika Holdings and Remgro. Dimension Data owns the balance of the company.
Britehouse has bought a majority stake in Swicon360 and BasisOne for an undisclosed amount. The acquisitions align with Britehouse's strategy to strengthen its ability to offer cloud services to its client base in SA and Africa.
Virtual future
Britehouse specialist SAP division CEO Paolo Masselli says the “acquisitions deliver on our strategy to provide cloud-based, hosted and BPO SAP solutions to the African market”.
Dimension Data CEO Brett Dawson recently said the company's future growth will come from increasing its cloud computing offerings. In the next two to three years, increased capacity will be boosted by its strategic journey towards offering unified communications.
Swicon360 is the only SAP-certified company in Africa that offers business process outsourcing services in the human capital management space, while BasisOne is Africa's first and only SAP-accredited hosting provider.
Swicon360 and BasisOne will continue to operate as autonomous businesses and Britehouse director, Grant Tate, will join both the Swicon360 and BasisOne executive teams.
Britehouse has investments in 3fifteen Technologies, which provides specialist Microsoft services, including consulting, software application development and deployment. It also has a stake in Auto-Mate, which provides IT services to the local automotive industry.
In addition, it has a stake in Paracon, which offers IT staffing and contracting services.
