Business Objects converges IT

Business Objects has released products that it hopes can take advantage of what the company expects will be a convergence of , , , compliance (GRC) and enterprise performance management (EPM) tools, says Computer World.

"Setting up [business] strategy and cascading it, that's EPM, understanding risk, that's GRC, and analysis of what works is BI," said Jonathan Becher, senior VP of marketing at Business Objects.

The company's new SAP Spend Analytics EPM tool collects and analyses procurement-related data from various sources, enabling users to monitor compliance and look for ways to save money, SAP said.

Microsoft India top BI vendor

Gartner's Asia Pacific software revenue estimates has found Microsoft India as the leading vendor of BI solutions in the country, says Business Standard.

The Gartner report estimates that with a growth rate of 40.5%, the BI software revenues in India were $19.4 million during 2006-07.

As per the study, Microsoft is also ahead of the competition in the overall APAC BI platform market for a second consecutive year.

Microstrategy releases new version

MicroStrategy has released MicroStrategy 8, software that provides deeper integration with SAP BI to help organisations achieve even faster time-to-value for their BI applications, says ThomasNet.

With this new release, MicroStrategy customers can further leverage their existing SAP investments with improved capabilities to design, publish, administer, and maintain their SAP reports.

MicroStrategy now offers enhanced reuse of SAP BI objects that accelerate SAP report development, enabling higher-quality development in less time.
