Business Objects, Oco team up

In the latest move among (BI) vendors as they struggle for dominance, SAP company Business Objects has teamed up with US-based firm Oco, reports Internet News.

Both companies offer BI in software-as-a-service mode and target the SME market.

Their teaming up is a continuation of the cut-throat competition that saw Oracle, SAP and IBM snap up Hyperion, Business Objects and Cognos, respectively, last year.

SAS eyes retailers

Software maker SAS expects more retailers in the Philippines to turn to analytics to gain advantage in a highly competitive industry, says The Inquirer.

SAS launched Intelligence, a suite of BI solutions including assortment planning and price optimisation designed for retailers.

The company believes BI is becoming a big differentiator for the retail industry, the same way enterprise resource planning and supply chain software was years ago.

Corda, Rahmat partner

Corda Technologies, of the US, and Malasia's Rahmat Allied have partnered to target BI users in Malaysia, reports Market Watch.

Corda Technologies is a leader in data visualisation and performance dashboard software.

"[Corda's] solutions will be paramount in the success of our universities, hospitals, and most assuredly, the government," said Rahmat Allied CEO Mohamad Nasir Mohamad Noor.
