Canon goes large

Canon has unveiled the imagePROGRAF iPF810 and imagePROGRAF iPF820, its first 44-inch large format printers, reports Wideformatonline.

The five-ink dye and pigment printers are capable of reproducing A1 prints in 24 seconds and A0 prints in 47 seconds. Both are capable of borderless printing and they are equipped with an 80GB hard drive.

Both devices are aimed at the CAD/GIS Production and Print-For-Pay environments, where large print runs with different types and sizes of media are required. They offer a solution for companies that are not equipped with their own LFP capability.

Xeikon, JVIS

Xeikon and JV Imaging Solutions (JVIS) have entered into a partnership, which will see JVIS offer the Xeikon 3300 and Xeikon 3000 and, in turn, see Xeikon strengthen its position in the labels market, reports Whattheythink.com.

The joint referral partnership programme will combine JVIS's focused product approach, workflow specialisation and staff capacity with Xeikon's experience in developing and delivering high-end digital colour printing solutions.

The Xeikon 3300 offers true 1 200 dpi at four bits per spot, has a top speed of 63 feet per minute and is particularly suited for short to medium print runs and just-in-time jobs. The Xeikon 3000 is its entry-level counterpart and offers a solution to companies looking to enter the digital printing market.

Epson releases Stylus

Epson announced the release of the Stylus NX400, the Stylus NX300, NX200 and NX100, inkjet all-in-ones, reports Globenewswire.

The three entry-level ink jets are designed for the printing, scanning, copying, and faxing needs of personal users and offer easy-to-use features, creative tools and results on plain, photo or specialty papers with Epson's all-pigment DURABrite Ultra inks.

The Epson Stylus NX400 delivers up to 34 pages per minute for black and colour text documents. The 4-in-1 Epson Stylus NX300 is Epson's first sub-$100 all-in-one with fax and an auto document feeder, while the Epson Stylus NX100 and NX200 offer useful scan and copy capabilities for everyday printing, scanning and copying needs.
