Cell C has announced a new package that gives customers 3GB of data, free Cell C to Cell C calls and any smartphone of their choice.
At R999 per month on a 24-month contract, Cell C's Straight Up Infinity package will be available as of Saturday.
Cell C chief commercial officer Jose Dos Santos says the new product comes in response to customer demand. "Customers have been asking for a deal that will allow them to choose their preferred smartphone at a great price."
Straight Up Infinity gives contract customers the choice of any of the available smartphones that Cell C has on offer, including iPhone, BlackBerry and Samsung devices.
Dos Santos says the "boom" in smartphones has seen data requirements growing, hence the inclusion of "a large volume of data usually associated with pure data contracts". He says the Straight Up Infinity product boils down to a "smartphone package".
The out of bundle rate will be 15c per MB and all local off-net calls will be billed at 99c per minute. Cell C says its 99c international calling rates to 54 countries will also apply to this package, with no opt-in required.
