Citi pilots mobile payment

Citi said it will begin piloting a new mobile peer-to-peer payment service with leading mobile payments provider Obopay, reports CNN Money.

The mobile payment service will be initially offered to select new and existing Citi customers as part of a limited consumer trial in Boston and Chicago.

"Citi is committed to delivering best in class payment solutions to our customers and deploying innovative technology that offers greater speed and convenience," said Raja Rajamannar, executive VP of Citi Cards.

Customers choose RSA

RSA, the security division of EMC, says 7 800 customers, including approximately 1 500 new customers, selected its solutions in the second quarter of 2007, reports CNN Money.

RSA's technology, business and industry solutions help customers put critical information into the hands of the people who need it, while protecting that information against unauthorised access.

Customer successes for the second quarter of 2007 included agreements with six leading Japanese financial institutions who, by taking a proactive approach to protecting against online threats, hope to broaden customer adoption of online banking in order to reduce costs, increase revenue and improve overall customer satisfaction.

European awards deadline extended

The deadline for entries to this year's European Banking Technology Awards was extended to allow for late entries, says Women in Technology.

Nominations have already opened for the awards, which include the category "Outstanding Contribution by a Female in Financial Technology", which was created to recognise outstanding contributions made by female technologists.

The online site, womenintechnology.co.uk, is sponsoring the awards.
