Cloud On Demand, a local, channel only cloud provider, has signed for additional data centre points of presence (PoP) in Teraco Kempton Park (Johannesburg) and Neotel Diep River (Cape Town), in addition to its Neotel PoP in Midrand.
As a result, its partners will soon have the ability to choose location-specific cloud workload deployments as well as failover locations and service level agreements in addition to the "flexible" cloud infrastructure-as-service and software-as-a-services already available to the partner channel, it says in a statement.
Cloud On Demand is majority owned by distributor MB Technologies (MBT), which said in May it had bought a majority stake in it - for an undisclosed amount - building on MB Technologies' subsidiary, Tarsus Technologies' previous distribution agreement with the cloud provider.
"The extension of our data centre locations is a direct result of the fantastic growth we have experienced as well as the increased demand for local cloud services in these locations.
As one of the first channel only cloud providers in South Africa, the growth is a result of the comfort the IT channel has that we will not go directly to their customers and force them out after a certain amount of time", says CEO Jonathan Kropf.
