Codima releases test reports
Codima Technologies has released the Codima Pre Deployment Test Reports, which provide easy access to valuable VOIP readiness test results graphically presenting predicted quality of service levels and recommended phone loading per Codec in a Word document, says Wireless Design Asia.
In-depth information from pre-assessment testing reports is crucial to network engineers when deploying VOIP technology.
Codima Pre Deployment Test Reports deliver summarised VOIP pre-assessment results in unparalleled graphical views that take VOIP pre-assessment testing to the next level. Information such as VOIP statistics on percentage frame loss versus phone loading, and jitter versus phone loading is graphically presented in a Word document.
Customers lose VOIP numbers
It's been reported again and again that Vonage makes it difficult for customers to cancel their VOIP service once they have signed up, says Broadband Reports.
However, recent cases are pointing to the fact that people who don't even sign up for Vonage service are having difficulties with the company. ZDNet has been reporting on just such a case in which Vonage managed to assign a Packet8 VOIP customer's phone number to one of Vonage's new subscribers. This left the Packet8 subscriber without phone service.
Vonage apparently told the customer that Packet8 would need to be responsible for taking the number back. Packet8 hasn't been particularly helpful in the situation given that it has told the customer that he needs to contact the company that got the number in order to get it back from them. The case is now being handled by attorneys.
BandTel chooses Covergence
Covergence, a provider of next generation session border control solutions, has completed interoperability testing with PortaOne, a global vendor of carrier-grade billing and provisioning software for Internet telephony service providers such as BandTel, says TMC Net.
The testing confirms compatibility between the award-winning Covergence Session Manager and the PortaOne PortaSwitch.
As the communications landscape quickly evolves, service providers need next-generation networking equipment that offers a clear and cost-effective transition path between traditional voice services and IP-based networks. Providers must ready their networks to support the real-time services like video, voice, presence and IM that users demand.
