Commissioners wary of payroll system

Hundreds of thousands of dollars could be saved each year by implementing an automated payroll system, says Maury County's budget director, according to The Daily Herald.

Some county commissioners, however, are sceptical the system would save as much money as their chief financial officer has estimated.

The system would use an electronic card reader to keep track of when employees enter and leave the office. Supervisors would be able to track attendance and overtime electronically, while employees would be able to check payroll information on their computers.

Neller develops and markets software and services to support HR professionals. Neller's subsidiary, Neller Employer Services, provides comprehensive outsourced payroll services.
