Nasdaq-listed Compuware Corporation has appointed Mediro ICT as its sole distributor for SA and sub-Saharan Africa.
The appointment, made through Compuware's BMS subsidiary, will expand Mediro ICT's geographic reach and aid the company in doubling up turnover.
Mediro ICT is a privately-held company that provides enterprise systems management (ESM) products and solutions. CEO Joop Groeneveld explains the partnership gives the company access to new clients and offerings.
Compuware Corporation is a software company that provides application performance management, business portfolio management and mainframe solutions to more than 7 100 clients around the globe.
During the second quarter to September, Compuware turned over $260.7 million, up from $225.9 million in the second quarter last year. Net income was $22.7 million.
Groeneveld says Mediro bought out Compuware's local office and took over nine staff members, taking its total employee base to almost 30. He anticipates doubling up the Compuware-focused staff with the next 18 months.
Signing the exclusive partnership with Compuware will also double the company's revenue “overnight”, says Groeneveld. He adds it gives Mediro access to about 45 new products, and the company inherits a client base that includes financial services, public sector and other corporate customers.
Groeneveld adds the deal will allow Mediro to expand into sub-Saharan Africa, which is not currently a focus area, and give it a presence in Cape Town and KwaZulu-Natal. He says new offices will be opened over time.
