The benefits of running contact centres offshore will come under the spotlight at an international offshoring conference in Cape Town next month.
The Offshore Customer Management International Conference, hosted by ICT Communications, a UK based event and media company, will take place in Cape Town from 1 to 3 November.
According to Christina Wood, event director at ICT Communications, South Africa is one of the most exciting emerging offshore markets. The event offers professionals in western businesses a chance visit contact centres in South Africa.
Wood says visitors will be shown the realities of offshore contact centres, regardless of their stance in the industry - whether they are looking to extend existing operations or trying to unlock the potential of other countries.
"No company can afford to ignore the offshoring phenomenon and the business efficiencies it offers," says Wood. "But researching the market and investigating opportunities can be a costly and time consuming business. Our conference will let interested companies get beyond the hype; to see, hear, touch and feel the reality of offshore contact centre and business processing operations, in an independent environment, at low cost."
Part of the programme for delegates is to visit existing contact centre and back office operations in Cape Town and Johannesburg serving US and European customers.
Delegates will also be able to assess other offshore locations such as Dubai, Botswana, Barbados, and China, all of whom will be represented at the event.
While the conference is targeted at those investigating offshore contact centre operations, companies that already have offshore operations will also benefit, says Wood.
