Crystal Decisions, formerly Seagate Software, is pulling out of the South African market.
The business intelligence company, which is responsible for reporting, analysis and information delivery solutions, intends to adapt its business model in SA from a direct sales and market presence to an indirect sales and value-added partner approach, working with e.com institute.
Effective from 1 July, the company will focus on just one partner to manage the sales, integration and support of its products, which include Crystal Analysis, Crystal Enterprise, Crystal Reports and Holos.
Cassim Parak, MD of e.com institute, comments: "We will be taking over the operation per se, ensuring that we enhance and maintain existing channel relationships. We aim to get Crystal Decisions into the market in a more focused and value-added manner."
More local support for Crystal Decisions
Other Crystal Decisions Enterprise Partners include Asyst International, Intelligent Business Applications, Scala, PQ Africa, Datasmith and Exabyte. Each of the local EPs focuses on adding value to a specific midrange ERP solution by providing a BI solution on top of it.
Crystal Decisions customers in Africa and the Middle East will be serviced by e.com institute, which has relocated to larger premises in Kramerville.
Inthiaz Cassimjee, former country manager of Crystal Decisions, will join e.com institute as sales director, while a number of former Crystal Decisions employees will be assimilated into the e.com institute staff complement.
