Cybercom bags Poland network contract

Swedish IT consultancy Cybercom Group Europe has received an outsourcing contract to conduct interoperability field tests for network signalling in Poland, reports TMCnet.

According to Cybercom, the client is one of the world's leading wireless semiconductor and platform companies, it said without naming the company.

Cybercom will test the connection and disconnection of various types of traffic for mobile platforms. In connection with the deal, it has agreed to take over some employees from the Swedish telecoms company that previously handled the field tests for the customer.

Data centre outsourcing brings benefits

If New Zealand businesses want to reduce the amount of money they spend on centres, then outsourcing is the way to go, Brocade says, according to The National Business Review.

As businesses emerge from the wake of the credit crunch and the aftershock of the recession, cost is an omnipresent factor for companies around the world, Brocade vice-president for Asia-Pacific, Deb Dutta, told NBR.

Dutta said storage was not a recession-proof industry but as data continues to soar and increases exponentially daily, it is a commodity businesses cannot ignore.

Xerox acquires ACS for $6.4bn

Xerox will acquire outsourcing entity Affiliated Computer Services for about $6.4 billion in a cash and stock deal, states Press Trust of India.

Both companies have entered into a definitive agreement in this regard and Xerox would be shelling out $63.11 per share for ACS.

Xerox, a provider in document management, technology and services enterprise, said in a statement that the deal, subject to approvals, is anticipated to close in the first quarter of 2010.
