Dailies move to hosted platform
The Durango Herald and Cortez Journal in southwest Colorado selected Saxotech's Managed Hosted Mediaware Centre to manage its print and online products, says News & Tech.
The publishers will also implement the vendor's archiving applications and Saxotech Online for front-end digital delivery. The apps will provide a complete publishing platform for the newspapers as a hosted service, Saxotech says.
"Our first objective was to find a content management solution that demonstrated a proven ability to generate efficiencies in the newsroom and give us the capacity to centralise and share content," says Amy Maestas, news editor for The Herald.
Conference Plus intros Share Portal

Share Portal offers on-demand access for archived conference calls, Webinars, and other multimedia files. The new version has several enhancements, which according to the company, are designed to give customers the ability to upload external files, including multimedia, training documents, and sales presentations.
"With the growing need for content management tools, we wanted to offer our customers a user friendly interface tailored specific to their conferencing needs," says Tim Reedy, president and CEO at Conference Plus.

This version is designed to help companies connect better with their customers by simplifying content management, delivering richer content and supporting Windows 7 for Embedded Systems.
