defenceWeb launches African Militaries profiles

By Phumeza Tontsi
Johannesburg, 23 Apr 2013

defenceWeb is proud to announce the launch of a new portal providing detailed insight into militaries on the African continent. The site's African Militaries section gives a comprehensive picture of the strength, composition and status of African armed forces.

Covering all branches of service as well as special forces, gendarmeries, etc, its military profiles will soon provide complete, unmatched coverage of every African nation's armed forces, including countries in North Africa.

Each military profile features a detail order of battle listing equipment in service; graphs and charts outlining the defence budget and spending over the last decade; a detailed overview of the condition of the military's forces; a list of external, internal, regional, political and economic threats; and information on external deployments.

This new section adds unrivalled detail to defenceWeb and expands its already extensive portfolio of African defence and security information, which ranges from daily news and analysis to photo galleries, fact files, event calendars, book reviews and more.

defenceWeb's African military analyses can be accessed here: http://www.defenceweb.co.za/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=119&Itemid=255
