The eleventh International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX), held last week in Abu Dhabi, has been a huge success for defenceWeb, which provided daily coverage of the Middle East and North Africa region's biggest defence show.

defenceWeb was invited to attend IDEX as media partners by Rear Admiral Ibrahim Salem Mohamed Al-Musharrakh, head of the United Arab Emirates Navy.

defenceWeb has published 25 stories so far on IDEX 2013, covering all the deals inked, new products released and agreements signed. It has also published two photo galleries featuring the spectacular opening ceremony and naval demonstrations, with more galleries to follow.

defenceWeb's quality news service was exposed to the 80 000 people and 1 200 exhibitors, who attended IDEX. The 2013 iteration of the Middle East's biggest defence show was the biggest in its 20-year history and featured 12 indoor exhibition halls, a first-time-exhibitor zone, vehicle demonstration track, helicopter area, maritime security area (NAVDEX) and unmanned systems area. The latter debuted at IDEX for the first time this year. One of the other highlights of IDEX was the Gulf Defence Conference, held the day before the show.

IDEX is just one of many conferences defenceWeb has covered and will continue to cover. It has applied its editorial expertise to three different defence shows in the last six months, from Johannesburg to Karachi.

Aside from exhibitions, the company continues to provide you with daily defence and security news and analysis, such as the 2013/14 defence budget and the latest orders and deployments.
