Deltathree is acquired for $1.17m

D4 Holdings has acquired deltathree, a provider of integrated VOIP telephony services, products, hosted solutions and infrastructure for $1.17 million (R16.5 million), states TMC Net.

According to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the pending deal would see D4 Holdings purchase 54% of deltathree, including 39 million shares. D4 Holdings also owns ACN, a large international direct seller of telecom services.

The SEC filing says upon the closing of the transaction, certain of deltathree's existing directors will resign, and its board of directors will nominate individuals to serve as directors of the company. There must be a sufficient number of nominees from D4 holdings so that they constitute a majority of the board of directors.

Nortel Government Solutions completed the core network for the massive new US Social Security Administration (SSA) VOIP system within 180 days of initial purchase orders, says PR USA.

The network is a requirement of the 10-year, $300 million (R2.9 billion) Telephone Systems Replacement Project award. This implementation included: redundant, geographically-dispersed service delivery points for high survivability; a state-of-the-art demonstration facility in Columbia; and a network operations centre, help desk, and agency test facility in Woodlawn, Maryland.

Nortel Government Solutions has also implemented an intensive VOIP applications suite that includes a data mart and management information system for custom reporting and hundreds of advanced telephony features to improve overall call-handling efficiency. All components were tested and accepted before rollout to SSA field offices began.

Windstream has partnered with Mitel to offer business customers an expanded portfolio of communications solutions, reports Trading Markets.

Mitel is a developer of communications solutions to organisations of any size. Windstream has been selling Mitel equipment, particularly its VOIP phone suite, to customers in the Carolinas and now business customers across Windstream's 16-state footprint can purchase Mitel's range of equipment and service options.
