Dimension Data has signed up the Servest Group in a three-year R43 million end-to-end IT outsourcing deal.
Servest provides multiservice solutions such as cleaning, hygiene, interior and exterior landscaping, security, turf and parking to more than 7 000 clients in SA and the UK.
Servest is 51.8% owned by management, while Safika Investments has a 25.2% stake and RMB Corvest 23%. It has more than 32 000 staff members.
CEO Dennis Zietsman says the “IT outsourcing agreement will allow the company to consolidate its own ICT infrastructure, independently support its outsourcing business and prepare the business for future growth”.
Grant Bodley, Dimension Data's senior GM of IT outsourcing, explains that the contract involves providing end-to-end IT solutions for the company, including hosting, desktop support and a wide area network. However, it does not include applications that are core to Servest's operations, he adds.
Dimension Data will also provide data centre servers and storage, data recovery with replication, as well as support services such as governance, service desk, connectivity, and hosting, as well as front- and back-office services.
Bodley says the contract involves maintenance and ongoing support. He says Servest previously outsourced some of its IT and handled the rest in-house.
Dimension Data Middle East and Africa services executive Brent Flint says the company's role is to help Servest differentiate itself through the use of IT to enhance its service offerings, and fulfil current and future requirements. “Our managed services solutions will accelerate Servest's drive to become more competitive.”
