Dubai holds BI event

As Dubai continues to set the pace for construction in the Gulf region, Meed - the () specialist and conference organiser - announces details of its fourth Dubai Mega Projects Conference, according to AME Info.

The event will take place on 3 and 4 March at the Al-Murooj Rotana Hotel in Dubai.

The conference will provide insights into upcoming mega projects and look in detail at progress of existing projects such as Dubailand, Bawadi and Waterfront.

BI should be pervasive

The worst thing you can do with a BI application is to have few people use it, said Christopher , director of business development for Information Builders at a recent lunch, reports Wise Technology.

BI, he said, should not be the sole purview of the executive suite or business analysts - it should be more pervasive.

Banks said most organisations access and analyse less than 20% of their data assets, and most have deployed BI capabilities to fewer than 10% of their internal users.

Oco targets medium-sized manufacturers

BI firm Oco has rolled out a new suite of solutions targeted at meeting the specific needs of medium-sized companies in the industrial products and consumer packaged goods manufacturing industries, says SDC Exec.

The new software-as-a-service solutions, Oco Industrial Products Solution and Oco Consumer Packaged Goods Solution, contain modules with dashboards, reports and key performance indicators.

Oco said the new BI products are applicable to manufacturers of all sizes but are particularly well-suited for the mid-market thanks to their pricing, ease of use and SaaS-based deployment.
