Duxbury appoints a sub-distributor in Zimbabwe

Johannesburg, 04 May 2006

Duxbury Networks has announced a further expansion of its sub-Saharan Africa activities, by signing a sub-distribution agreement with Axis Solutions in Zimbabwe which will help the local company to access Duxbury`s self-branded portfolio of solutions, as well as Netgear`s line of enterprise solutions.

Graham Duxbury, managing director of Duxbury, says in seeking out a partner, Axis was a perfect choice. "Axis has demonstrated a professional approach to its customers and has a wealth of knowledge to bring to the table in the security and infrastructure management space. Our Duxbury and Netgear product lines will be well served in the Zimbabwean market by Axis`s representation," said Duxbury.

Brian Mukudzavhu, Axis Solutions Chief Technical Officer, says: "We pride ourselves on being a complete solution provider that has and will continue to forge strong partnerships with the leading vendors and technologists in the world. Our core business is helping organisations protect and ensure the availability of the asset that matters most to them, namely information."

Axis Solutions has already successfully implemented security solutions in large institutions like Econet Wireless, Zimbank and the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority, not to mention the implementation of networking and disaster recovery solutions at an even longer list of major clients in the region.

"The addition of Duxbury as a partner is a serious feather in our cap. It will expand our operations substantially in Zimbabwe and for Duxbury, allow for another valuable market opportunity. This partnership will also see Axis offering the Netgear VPN firewall router products that integrate with Trend Micro anti-virus which has been doing very well in Zimbabwe. We will offer products that will help reduce procurement, set-up and maintenance costs such as wireless networking," said Mukudzavhu.

He added that Axis Solutions must not be mistaken as Axis Distribution in South Africa, as they have no connection whatsoever.

Says Duxbury: "The sub-Saharan market is literally bursting with opportunity and this move is the first of many for Duxbury in tapping the market potential outside of South Africa."

Duxbury believes there is good market potential in the Zimbabwean economy and in sub-Saharan Africa as a whole. "We have pledged to work closely with Axis to bring a real difference to their customers` lives, through our range of world-class solutions," he concludes.
