In an effort to provide its partners with the latest industry accreditations, official South African Proxim distributor, Duxbury Networking, will for the second time host the Proxim Training from 26 to 29 October 2004 at the Duxbury offices in Riviera, Johannesburg.
The training will comprise of key industry wireless and broadband certifications that include Proxim Certified WiFi Engineer (PCWE), specifically looking at Orinoco Access points and client services, as well as Proxim Certified Broadband Engineer (PCBE) featuring the WAN Advanced, Lynx and Tsunami products.
"We believe this is the ideal opportunity for our partners to obtain the relevant, and very important, certifications to compete competitively in the South African wireless and broadband arena," comments Graham Vorster, chief technology officer of Duxbury Networking.
"Proxim offers industry-leading wireless and broadband products, and with the accreditation to support it, our partners will definitely have a head-start."
Duxbury will also, in the near future, have a locally-based certified Proxim trainer that will further streamline the training processes.
When attending the courses, partners should ensure they adhere to requirements that, for example, stipulate that they must complete the PCWE course in order to attend the Proxim Certified Hot Spot Specialist (PCHS) training.
Another important requirement is that certification exams must be written within a month after attending the Proxim Technical Training.
The course includes the following:
* Tuesday, 26 October - Proxim Certified WiFi Engineer (PCWE) - Orinoco Access points and client services;
* Wednesday, 27 October - Proxim Certified Hot Spot Specialist (PCHS) - AP2500/hotspots;
* Thursday, 28 October - Proxim Certified Broadband Technician (PCBT) - WAN basics, Tsunami MP.11 and Quickbridge; and
* Friday, 29 October - Proxim Certified Broadband Engineer (PCBE) - WAN Advanced, Lynx and Tsunami.
