Duxbury Networking has announced a training initiative designed to provide previously disadvantaged individuals (PDIs) with the knowledge needed to successfully develop and implement networks in today`s competitive IT market.
Duxbury will devote one of its Networking Essentials courses per month to PDI students, for whom there will be no charge.
Says Graham Vorster, chief technology officer at Duxbury Networking: "Many people have the ambition and the talent to be successful in the networking arena, but not always the skills and knowledge to achieve it.
"This is why we`ve decided to make one of our Networking Essentials courses available to PDIs, providing them with the right platform on which to build their networking careers."
Vorster adds that Duxbury decided to limit the size of the classes to 10 students, enabling lecturers to focus on the specific requirements of the attendees and provide quality sessions.
A prerequisite for enrolment in a Networking Essentials course is some form of basic experience in the IT industry.
