Duxbury Networking is to expand its training programme at its training centre in Johannesburg to offer entry-level courses in network technology to appropriately oriented candidates.
According to Graham Vorster, chief technology officer at Duxbury, the courses are designed to prepare non-network-skilled students for more advanced courses and possible international certification and accreditation on a wide range of product sets.
"The one- and two-day courses cover a broad spectrum of subject matter," notes Vorster, "including wireless networking, security, applications and network infrastructures."
Vorster stresses that the courses are generic in nature and the price - R800 per day - includes all courseware and training manuals. "Duxbury now has the capability to train students from unskilled all the way to professional levels," he adds.
Significantly, Duxbury has reserved 20% of the available seats on the courses for selected previously disadvantaged individuals who will receive sponsored training.
Duxbury also has a mechanism in place designed to secure jobs in the information technology industry for successful students.
