E-governance goes rural
Every third village in the State of Tamil Nadu will be equipped with Internet-enabled kiosks within 11 months, as part of the state's e-governance programme, according to newindpress.com.
The government will set up 5 400 Internet-enabled kiosks in the State.
Township projects would accompany the establishment of IT parks in Tiruchy, Tirunelveli and Madurai, excluding Coimbatore due to lack of adequate space.
Internet governance forum held
The inaugural UK Internet Governance Forum was held at the Houses of Parliament last week and featured representatives from Nominet, the Specialist Crime Directorate, several MPs and a British ambassador, reporting ZDNet.
The Internet Governance Forum (IGF) was established in 2006 by the United Nations to give companies, governments, organisations and individuals the opportunity to debate how the internet is changing and developing.
To coincide with the first UK IGF, Nominet, the organisation that manages all domains ending in .UK, launched its Best Practice Challenge which it claims will recognise organisations, groups or individuals that have worked to deliver a safer, more accessible, diverse and open Internet experience.
Training programmes launched
The shifting geopolitical climate and technological developments within the oil and gas industry are having a significant impact on the laws, regulations and contracts within this sector, says BI-ME.
These trends make it all the more imperative that both legal and non-legal industry professionals continually refresh their understanding and commercial awareness of contract issues pertaining to the oil and gas industry.
Hugh Fraser International, the Dubai headquartered legal and business consultancy, is addressing this need with a series of international oil and gas law training programmes, especially tailored for engineers, finance and commercial managers.
