EMC wants Document Sciences

Data storage and software maker EMC agreed to buy publishing-software maker Document Sciences for US$85 million in cash, bolstering its enterprise content management line, according to SDA India.

Document Sciences and EMC have been since 2004, when Document Sciences signed an agreement to integrate its xPression software with EMC's Documentum platform.

On completion of the acquisition, EMC plans to operate Document Sciences as a business unit within the EMC Content Management and Archiving division, EMC said. The acquisition is expected to close in the first quarter of 2008.

Terminalfour wins client

Terminalfour has successfully delivered a new Web site for the Ministry of Information in the Kingdom of Bahrain, says ECM Connection.

The deal, delivered in partnership with local Internet services company Dinas, is Terminalfour's first content management client in the Middle East.

Terminalfour the contract to provide and implement a content management platform to manage the ministry's portfolio of Web sites, Intranets and extranets.

Vodafone Spain selects Openwave

The Openwave OpenWeb and Secure Content Management (SCM) solutions have been selected by Vodafone Spain, says TradingMarkets.

Part of Openwave's next-generation service management portfolio, the solutions will enable Vodafone Spain to provide its subscribers with rich, device-formatted content from Web sites to any mobile device.

Openwave SCM delivers a multi-protocol, multi-service defence across messaging, browsing and downloads against the rapidly growing variety of threats to mobile services.
