EMC wins award

EMC, the manufacturer of software and systems for information management and storage, has won the Great Indian Developer Award at the Great Indian Developer Summit 2008, says CMS Wire.

The summit was organised by Saltmarch Media, who counted votes by developers in India and around the world for being the best content management system in a given category.

Documentum was commended for providing a unified environment for storing, accessing, controlling, organising, retrieving and delivering any type of unstructured information within an enterprise.

eZ book released

eZ has launched its third book, eZ Publish Advanced Content Management, says PR-USA.Net.

This book is compatible with eZ Publish 4.0 and was written to address the needs of content managers and Webmasters, providing a comprehensive advanced guide to managing content with eZ Publish.

It builds upon concepts from the eZ Publish Content Management Basics book. Both books were written by Bergfrid Marie Skaara.

DS uses Oracle

DS Group is using Oracle Information Rights Management (IRM), to secure, track and protect sensitive and classified documents, says IT Var News.

"We chose Oracle Content Management over other solutions from Microsoft, Adobe and EMC because of its advanced capabilities, such as interoperability with different applications and also its ability to seal and protect any type of electronic document," said Santosh Singh, GM of IT at DS Group.

"DS Group's will always be protected with Oracle Content Management. The board needn't worry about how confidential documents are being accessed - whether through the corporate domain or through the Internet," said Harshal Pendse, director, technology initiatives, Oracle India.
