Enterprise architects vital for slump
According to a new paper from Forrester Enterprise, architects should use the current economic uncertainty to push business unit executives into genuine collaboration, reports Computer World.
The analyst group has warned enterprise architects to anticipate the impact of the economic slow-down and start refining their assumptions and goals.
The analyst group said enterprise architects should proactively present their CIOs with a prioritised, cost-quantified list of the low-impact items available for cuts, the most important things not to cut, and the most valuable places to invest any remaining available funds.
Cox uses Mega for EA
MEGA International has announced that Cox Enterprises is using the MEGA Modeling Suite for its enterprise architecture (EA) and business process modelling program, writes Ajax World.
Cox Enterprises is a media company with more than 80 000 employees in 300 companies. As the company grew into a $13 billion enterprise, important information on business processes, technology, and corporate resources became more decentralised. It was a growing challenge for all departments, and the IT staff in particular, to have essential information when it was needed.
Cox Enterprises evaluated several options to find an EA solution with a great deal of flexibility to cater to its specific business needs and grow with the company. The IT staff found that MEGA International offered a strong technology solution, and more than 16 years of expertise in helping customers begin and build successful EA programs.
