Listed outsourcing provider EOH has expanded in the Western Cape, after opening new offices in the province to grab hold of growth opportunities.
“The Western Cape has always been a key region for us,” says CEO Asher Bohbot. “We have identified the immense growth potential in providing clients with a full IT service offering out of our Cape Town office. This has resulted in additional investment in the region and significant growth of our Cape Town employee base.”
The new Century City, Cape-based office is staffed with 300 people and represents about 15% of the company's revenue, says Bohbot. In the half-year to January, EOH reported revenue of R787.3 million, which was 40.6% up on the previous half-year.
Bohbot said, in March when the results were released, that the company had targeted revenue of R4 billion by the end of its 2014 financial year. This, he explained, would be done through a combination of organic and acquisitive growth.
EOH is targeting several sectors in the Cape, which it believes are set to grow. These include financial services, telecoms, retail, mid-sized manufacturing and the public sector.
Bohbot says EOH views the “Cape as a major growth area, with faster growth rate compared to the rest of the country”. As a result, it invested in offices in Century City with room to grow. It also spent on a network operations centre, as well as a call centre and service desk, to support its managed services customers in the Cape and elsewhere in the country.
“We believe that the Cape has a good infrastructure, more skilled people and generally lower cost of doing business; therefore, EOH will continue to invest and grow our activities in this region, including servicing customers based in other territories,” says Bohbot.
