EOH wants to grow its business process outsourcing capabilities, says CEL Asher Bohbot.

EOH believes it is stealing market share away from its rivals, because its top line growth is beating out the industry average.

CEO Asher Bohbot notes the market is growing at between 5% and 6%, but EOH's revenue gained 39.4%, to R4.6 billion, in the first six months of the year, and the bulk of this gain was organic.

In the six months to January, organic growth accounted for 73% of revenue growth, with the balance coming from deals. Earnings per share gained 26.3% and headline earnings per share improved 26.4%.

Bohbot says based on the mathematics, EOH must be taking market share away from its rivals. "We've got a decent brand now."

The company, which ended the period with cash of R1.5 billion, is also seeking to expand its offerings and is targeting ICT, industrial technology and business process outsourcing as growth areas, says Bohbot.

Bohbot notes EOH has become a pan African company, with operations in 29 African countries and in the UK, and is "very busy" on the continent; an area of growth it ignored until three years ago. Its slow move into Africa was because EOH did not want to "dilute" its attention from local operations, he explains.

The listed company's foray into Africa will accelerate through the increase of its in-country presence, partnerships, joint ventures and acquisitions.

EOH anticipates further growth as there is an addressable market for its services of between R200 billion and R300 billion locally, says Bohbot. He adds its diversified portfolio eliminates the effects of the sluggish economy.

All areas of EOH's business operations grew in the first half, with the revenue from services being the most significant revenue generator - up by more than R1 billion, to R3.4 billion, which is 73% of total revenue.
