Faritec believes it can capture a large share of the IT solutions market in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN).

The IT solutions company is bolstering its presence in the region with its full range of products and services.

"We are going to be aggressive in the region and we hope to increase our market share some time in the near future," says Faritec KZN regional manager Peter Hilditch.

He would not specify how much of the local market the company wants, but believes it will be positioned to be a market leader there.

"By nurturing and developing co-operative relationships with our clients and suppliers, encouraging free and original thinking, and constantly striving for excellence, we aim to grow and set the benchmark for the ICT industry in KwaZulu-Natal," says Hilditch.

More than support services

The JSE-listed IT services and solutions company says it wants to create a strong corporate presence in KZN, in line with its leadership position in Gauteng and the Western Cape.

Faritec initially had a supporting function in the KZN region and now wants a more permanent and secure position.

The company will open new offices, and add staff and resources to its existing offices in Durban. Hilditch says the decision was made to grow the KZN business in response to market and demand.

"We have identified a growing requirement for professional services and skills," Hilditch says. "As a solutions provider, Faritec says it is ideally positioned to meet these demands and offers comprehensive delivery from a national footprint perspective."

Faritec states it has experience in delivering solutions to local and provincial government customers, and believes technology solutions can play a significant role in helping government achieve its objectives.

The IT solutions service provider hopes to leverage its nationwide strengths in the public sector to expand its offering to local government entities in KZN.
