First Java-.NET interop tool
Java-.NET interoperability company JNBridge recently announced JNBridgePro 3.0 as the first Java and .NET interoperability tool, according to a statement.
The tool means developers can integrate any .NET with any Java regardless of if they are running over a network or even the same process.
It is important to note, however, that JNBridgePro 3.0 still supports .NET Framework 1.0 and 1.1, as well as earlier versions of Java.
Via`s Java crypto plug-in
Via Technologies now offers a plug-in to allow the Java engine to offload cryptographic functions to its "Padlock" crypto processor, reports ExtremeTech.
The Via Cryptography Service Provider enables the JRE to offload AES encryption and random number generation to the Padlock found within Via`s latest PC processors, including the VIA Eden and VIA C3 processors based on the `Nehemiah` C5P core, as well as the VIA PadLock RNG integrated into the `Nehemiah` C5XL core.
The Via JCP can accelerate these AES cipher functions by up to 90 times compared to a pure software implementation, according to Via.
Sun`s Java Card now contactless
With the addition of a small radio antenna that can be read up to 10 centimetres away, the Java Card now eliminates physical contact with reading device, says Geek.com.
Sun`s Java Card technology is used in executing Java-based secure applications in a limited environment such as banking, building access control or cellphone SIM card. The accompanying Java Card software has also been upgraded to allow for this contactless communication.
Sun is confident that this new card system with its platform-independent base is a practical solution for government bodies and enterprises worldwide.
