Key issues relating to the and law are to come under the spotlight at a three-day Southern African Internet Forum (SAIF) 2003 in the Pilanesberg next month.

The conference will focus on challenges such as the international bandwidth monopoly, interconnection and rural operators, the censorship and personal privacy minefield, and the domain name debate.

The conference, to be staged at KwaMaritane Game Lodge from 11 to 13 April, will also include panel discussions on issues such as the role of Internet user groups, encouragement of active virtual communities, rural challenges and the best approaches to opening access for telecentres and cyber caf'es.

SAIF aims to help create a shared strategic agenda between the private sector, regulators and civil society. It will also offer high-level training workshops on the third day of the event.
