Foschinidata received the first IT Leading Employer Award at the 2008 Computer Society of South Africa (CSSA) IT Personality of the Year awards this week.
The award is presented by the CSSA in partnership with ITWeb, Gartner and the Gordon Institute of Business Science.
The IT division of the Foschini Group was awarded the prize for its commitment to improving people management processes in an IT environment, said TalentAlign IT partner, Gail Sturgess, as she handed over the award.
“The world of people management is changing hugely. IT is not really great at people management and it needs to become people-oriented. This award is about employer engagement and the levels of commitment employees have to the success of the organisation,” she said.
