Gartner predicts ECM growth
Even in a down economy, Gartner research found that despite dropping from double-digit growth between 2004 and 2007, enterprise content management (ECM) managed to see single-digit growth in 2008, ending off with $3.3 billion in worldwide software licence and maintenance revenue, says DestinationCRM.
According to Gartner's latest Magic Quadrant for ECM, the market is expected to resume a healthy growth rate by next year, with predictions exceeding $5.1 billion in worldwide software licence revenue by 2013.
The market is "healthy," the report states, but notes it is also undergoing a transformation as a result of market consolidation and the prominence of niche players.
Five, ITFC ink deal
The London-based provider of content management services to broadcasters and content owners, ITFC, has been exclusively contracted by Five to provide all its subtitling for the deaf and hard of hearing, reports 4rfv.
The contract was won on the back of a competitive tender and includes subtitling for its three channels - Five, Five USA, and Fiver.
Five is required by Ofcom to provide subtitling for 80% of its programmes on its main channel and exceeded this target in the third quarter of 2009, achieving 82.8%. ITFC will subtitle many of Five's most popular shows, including FlashForward, Home and Away, Five News, and Live from Studio Five, to help continue this upward trend.
Web key to CM
Developers, marketers, interactive agencies and IT professionals cite search and Web analytics as key applications of an overall Web content management system (CMS) strategy, a recent Sitecore survey has revealed, states Earth Times.
In the survey of more than 100 decision-makers, Sitecore found the number of organisations implementing Web analytics rose to nearly 90%.
Organisations are looking for a more integrated understanding of site traffic and Web campaigns, therefore unifying Web content management, analytics and marketing automation has become a top priority to yield faster conversions. In addition, respondents noted that integrating customer relationship management systems and Web CMS software is a top priority.
