South African event organisers now have the ability to find and book guest speakers online, using Guest Speaker (www.guestspeaker.co.za), an Ecomafrica initiative. The site features a 60-strong list of public figures across various fields from adventure to investment, and including sport, media, financial and motivational speakers.

The site went live three months ago, and according to Ecomafrica co-founder Charles Teversham, has facilitated 13 bookings since its public launch last week.

"We`ve had an excellent response; people love the concept of easy access to these celebrities."

Teversham believes the key operating principle behind Guest Speaker is that the site doesn`t replace the booking process at all - it just brings its guest speaker community closer to people interested in the . Once an enquiry has been made, the booking process is handled in the traditional fashion.

The service is free to users, and comes with a guaranteed three-day response to enquiry time.

Gary Boddington, co-founder of Ecomafrica, comments: "We intend to use the site to build a community that serves the interests of our clients and our speakers equally."

Ecomafrica describes itself as an integrated sports marketing company, harnessing technology to maximise commercial opportunities in the South African sports industry. Isaac Shai, Freek Robinson, Camilla Jane Walker and Dr David Molapo are among the speakers currently available through the site.
